At the Gulf Coast Visitor Center we saw   a group of three American Eagles perched upon a tree. This one flew across to another tree limb. They are not as good hunters as Ospreys and are known to loot from the Ospreys.

The Mangroves Boat  tour through   the low lying mangrove trees is serene. It could get  only better if you could do it on a canoe. You  could see a whole variety of water birds, Dolphins and Manatee.

The Ochopee Post Office

The Ochopee Post Office in Florida, the smallest on in the US.

As we were heading westwards on the Tamiami trails through  the Everglades  in Tampa direction, the Ochopee post office appeared on  the left. Almost missed it, but turned around and came back. It is said to be the smallest post office in the US. The population they are serving is minuscule, but lot of tourists stop by for the Ochopee postal stamp. The sun was  almost setting.

Everglades  ചതുപ്പാണ്‌. അനേക മൈലുകൾ  വീതിയുള്ള ഒരു ചതുപ്പ് .  വളരെ സാവധാനം അത് കടലിലേക്ക്‌ ഒഴുകിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.  ശരാശരി  ആഴം 6 inch മാത്രം. അതി വിപുലമായ  ജൈവ വൈവിധ്യം .  മനുഷ്യൻറെയും  മറ്റു ജീവജാലങ്ങളുടെയും പല പുരാതന ചരിത്രങ്ങൾക്കും  സാ ക്ഷി .
